4.2 build

I know I've posted alot about this before, but now I'm just waiting for a day off of work to go to the junkyard, but now I'm wondering, should I just do windstar intake on dual port heads with work done to them, or should I try to get some good flowing single ports and a super coupe supercharger on the 4.2 block? I drive the car alot so reliability and mpgs is a factor for a few years, I hope to eventually get another daily and track this one. For drifting

---------- Post added at 11:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:07 AM ----------

Also has anyone herd about any progress in the adapter plate for the dual port heads?

Best bet is to just swap in the 4.2 after you rebuild it. Then get the tuner and reground cam. With mild head work, dual exhaust and a good tune you'll be looking at 230rwhp or more. The supercoupe is 210hp but 300ftlbs of tq lol

Well I was gonna build the 4.2 with the supercoupe charger, just on a f150 block, I'd still get a cam, headwork, and do some p&p n other work to the charger

You can spin your tire for a long time with 300 ftlbs of tq

Go split port have work done to the heads with a new cam and windstar swap get use to the power for a little while, and hopefully in a couple months me and Luis will have the intercooled M112 kits for sale fitting the split port lower intakes bigger blower means more power than an M90 and still be nice and cool

Well normal M112 kits make in the neighborhood of 260-290 on a stock motor, I would expect a little over 300 on a stock car probably more, don't want to make it some exaggerated number lol on my car shooting for 400 sooo

Just like a stock 3.8, 400-450 on a safe tune, I'm still going to be running stock bottom lol

It will just the time frame is uncertain, almost have everything paid for except the IC and heat exchanger. Luis is coming up here and we're doing install and he's gonna tune it in person so should be fun. Hoping to keep intake temps below 140 or so.

+1 I want a m112 soooo bad. Not to be off topic, but how much would one kill my mpg? And I would need to use 91+ octane right?

hey david, for those m112 kits, does it have to be the m112 or could any supercharger that's suppose to fit the cobra fit?
Also, isn't it possible to put the m122 rotors in the m112 case?

Technically it could be any cobra blower, if you want to spend that much money lol

Steig does that I've heard, not sure what its suppose to benefit but I know it takes modifications to the setup aside from sticking the rotors in there.

Cool, I was thinking you could get more power with a twin screw. They cost more but if someone wants more power out of a small engine.

I got my rebuild kit from eBay, don't get DNJ, I can vouch for the grumpys brand.

Not to crazy about eBay, idk why, but any reliable sites? For any parts I may need, I'm rebuilding the whole engine, just keeping stock rotating assembly

EBay its self can't be reliable or unreliable. Its just a site that sellers use. Grumpys is a reliable brand and seller.

So after looking at the price of peices for a m112 set up it looks like it could get pretty expensive and it probly won't be used to its full potential on a v6, so I've seen this discussion allot and it usually ends up going nowhere, but, Is there a an adapter plate or any way to set up the super coupe m90 onto a SPLIT PORT engine?

As far as I know you can only do it on a single port. And that conversion kills about 30hp

Have to make your own plate if you want an M90

I guess I'll have to see, I think Ssm wayy overcharges for their m112 plate, hopefully your kit can work out to be more cost effective

When you outsource things like that the price goes up, if they are cutting and welding in house then seems overpriced yes
