transmission swap questions?

I still have no idea whether or not if I want to even keep the car, I love its look, but I'm starting to hate the V6 sound,
Doing some research for a carb'd V8 swap and I need to know if the older non-computer controlled AOD transmission will be a direct swap for the AOD-E.
I plan on ripping out most electronics(except the radio) and putting some toggle switches where the fan knobs are(heat, AC etc...)

I can get a mid 80's or early 90's 5.0 for free, I don't want much currently... just the V8 sound.

FROM what I can think of, I'll need!
-motor mounts
-k-member(will the V6 one work?)
-and a AOD transmission
-maybe a longer drive shaft.
-flexplate,starter(for whatever transmission I go with

I read some stuff about a C4 or C5 swap but decided against it. I'd like to try and keep over drive.

The dreams to eventually put a 427w stroker in it, 4 bolt main after market block, big cam... you know what i'm talking about.

Putting a mild 5.0 in it would get it ready for the 351w swap.

Why not just buy a 94-95 with a running 5.0 for less than 2K an have 2 cars? Don't want to make a project car without back up

Yea for all the money you are going to spend on the swap you could possibly just find a cheap 94 95 gt, and sell the v6 and build the gt

no, 94-95 GT's in my area, there all foxbodies or 96+ 4.6's.
Plenty of other V6's also.

I don't plan on spending to much on this
engine mounts are $50,
I found a used AOD transmission for $50 locally, unknown condition but they say it was working when it was pulled.(i've found more on EBAY for $250+, but I think I'll take a gamble for $50)
k-members look to be $250 or more.

I already have a complete 5.0 efi(****ty efi, standard output).
With the money I have right now this is the cheapest option.

GT's in my area never sell for less than 3k unless there wrecked.

All the work is being done by me, it's going to need a longer drive shaft thats the only thing I can't do.

I've been looking for a cheap beater to drive incase the stang takes too long.

found used k-member for 79-93 5.0's only $150 with shipping, these should fit, bolt holes are off by about 1/4 inch though.
