I have a 2002 ford focus ZX3 and a 2002 GT mustang and for full coverage I'm paying $150.00 a month for both cars. I'm 21 with a great driving record tho.

Depending on who your insurance company is you could get a good student discount. Drivers ed should help if you have it. But new driver with a sports car wont be as cheap as a 21 year old with 4 or 5 years of driving experience.

Welcome to the forum also. I have State Farm. They have discounts and stuff. They have i.think safe driver discount where you drive for 60 days and fill out a book on it. So that helps. According to math, im paying 143 a month and thats with all the discounts and full coverage.

That's pretty good for v8, is it cheaper for v6 or v8?

I pay $105/mo for my 2004 V6. 22 year old male in college. My area has higher insurance rates, but I also have a wreck on my record from 2009 which I think goes away after five years.

Insurance is hevily weighted where you live. In Miami, my 13 5.0 was $180 per month. Used the address to my other house is Naples, $67 per month.

From Colorado.. Haha. My dad is turning the title over to me next month when I turn 18, and my payments are gonna drop in half. So I'll be paying $50-$60 car payment and $120 insurance.

Well I'm 18 and my insurance is $1500 a year. I do have 2 speeding violations which added $66 a month. Just to give you a figure. But I'm insuring by myself. Its cheaper to put it on the parents insurance and just add the son as a driver.

Yup. I reckon my premium would be a lot lower if I didn't live in such a crummy area with terrible drivers and higher rates of crime.

As for cheap insurance companies, I'd be careful. The nice thing about the major players is that they make a LOT of money, which means they hire great lawyers, which you're going to want if you get in a minor accident with a shyster who fakes an injury.

Hell, if I had the money I'd get maximum coverage and even have a top attorney on retainer just to destroy those jackasses in court. I hate dishonest people who try to screw others over.
