You no longer have overdrive.

Any particular reason you would remove overdrive?

It will kill your fuel economy for starters. I too don't understand why you want to remove overdrive.

You mean the overdrive button? If so, then you will no longer be able to manually shift yourself down to third

That's because your overdrive is switched to on. You don't need to press it every time you go over 40.

The overdrive button is used to disable 4th gear. It's useful for going up hills or overtaking someone. To can manually disengage 4th by gassing it and it automatically drops down to third.

It IS useful, yet if you just slam on the gas it will shift down to 3rd or 2nd by itself. I've never used my overdrive button.

I never used the button when I had my auto. Oddly enough the only reason I can see to use the button is if you were pulling a trailer. Lol. Yes I have seen mustangs pulling trailers. Smh!

When you slam on the gas to manually downshift you're putting more stress on your tranny. The only reason to really use your od button is to go up a steep hill. Lower gear, less gas to waste and more power. So you don't really need it

yeah I do too but only when I'm driving fast. Leaving the o/d off will suck the hell out of your gas tank. I leave trac off always though except in rain

You know how when your driving and the car will suddenly shift up and rpms drop to a crappy power band way down low? That's your overdrive

Take it off and it will rev more and you'll have a lot more throttle response to the car

I suggest leaving it on though
