interior lights?

I am a first time mustang owner. So I do apologize for my lack of knowledge.
On a 2001 mustang do the interior lights come on when the drivers door is open?

Yes, if you hear that stupid ding the door pin works right and probably the bulb is blown. Check by turning the head light switch to c if the dome light comes on. The 2 map lights come on and the switch is located next to the dome light.

Yes the dome light should come on when you open the door. If the bulb is good the usual problem that plagues this chassis style is the dimmer/ headlight switch itself. I had the same issue with my 02 gt and replaced the headlight/dimmer switch and it fixed the problems I had.

Good Luck!

I would check the little switch that's in the door jam it looks like a button, it might be stuck, it was like that on my car for awhile.
