Tuners

Hi, I am thinking about getting a used sct tuner online. I was wondering if any tuner can set a rev limiter at specific rpm's? Can tuners also remove the speed limiter?

From my understanding, a tuner is just that, the "tuner." You have to load custom tunes onto it and it'll just upload the custom tune to your car for you. Once you have loaded your custom tune(s) onto it, it will ask if you'd like to adjust some of the perimeters before uploading the tune.

So not only will you have to purchase a compatible tuner, but you'll also need to purchase aftermarket tunes. Bama Performance and Steeda offer a "tunes for life" program (unlimited tunes). Other aftermarket solutions include MPT, Lund, a local customs shop with a Dynojet, etc..

To answer your second question, yes.

You have to put the times on your stang from what they make and you could possibly ask them to make it switch at diffrent RPMs but depends on the people doing it your at the mercy of them honestly.

Are you talking about an automatic? I have a manual but was hoping I could set rev limiters with it.

I have the sct tuner from American muscle, ad after every upload of a different tune it gives you the option to change almost all the parameters. The only one I've ever felt safe messing with is the rev limit (brought it down like 2 hundred) and the nuetral rev limit with the clutch in for off the line. And you can ask when they write the tune to remove the speed limiter.

I have the Bama sct wireless tuner from American muscle and you can turn the speed limiter off using it. I don't know about the other tuners.

Yes, we can set your rev limiter to whatever you'd like. We can set it at a certain RPM or we can set it so high that you'd never be able to hit it! We can also raise the speed limiter.

Be careful when purchasing a used tuner online. If the device is still married to seller's car, you won't be able to use it. In order to use a locked device, you'd have to send it back to SCT to be unlocked for a one time fee of $150. After you got the device back, you could buy into our free tunes for life program for a one time fee of $150. In many occasions buying a "locked/married" tuner will result in spending more money than buying it new!

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future. You can also hit up the Bama team with any questions!
