I really hate to be that dickhead.

But.
Sell it get a cobra.
I bought mine for 15k.
You're gonna spend that in parts and some labor.
Plus you'll never have the SVT certification.

The coyote crate motor is 8k. Screw that ****ty MT-82 fit a T-56 behind it, drive shafts ecu rear end, god looking again at another 20k swap if not more.

It would be cheaper to buy a mach 1 and put v6 badging on it.

Still looking at 10k.
And it depends on the engine.
The 4v 4.6 will swap in easy if u have all the support.
If it's a 5.0 it's a squeeze and lots of custom parts.

cheapest engine swap would probably be an older windsor small block. Only have to buy ONE camshaft is what I really like about pushrod engines, what might cost $4000 on dohc would cost around $1000 for the pushrod engine. Not like Pushrods restricted by RPMs, nascar and the NHRA still uses them.
Pushrod engines still have a lot going for them, you can build them pretty cheaply and get the engines for pretty cheap to. Just on my local craigslist I've seen a few every couple of months. two 5.8's for $200 one smoked a lot, other was fine. Another one was $100 for one, been sitting in the garage for awhile wasn't sure if it ran.
Even I got a 5.0 sitting in my garage that was running before the truck was flipped over. They let me pull the engine for free. It looked like the wiring/ecu was damaged so I just cut most of the stuff to got it out quickly.

For swap like a 5.0 or 5.8 you could carb it, then any small block manual would would fit. some might need a longer driveshaft. (If your car was manual V6 the transmission would bolt up to a windsor block)

My dream swap would be a 351/5.8 stroked to a 427, Efi would be cool if I could get all the parts. With high compression and some good heads it would haul ***.

Mach 1 swap

Just to be curious what all would you need to do a total swap from a 2002 v6 to a Mach 1?

Suspension, motor, trans, motor mounts, trans mount, wiring, ecu, TCU, hood, probably gauge cluster, and too many other things to list.

Would be alot cheaper prob to just do a 4.6 2v swap but build your engine then put a mach 1 shaker on it that's just my opinion

im doing a 5.0 swap into a 2000 v6, people tell u to sell your v6 and buy a Gt because they really have no clue. There is a lot of build threads on the net for me to write one , but i followed one very closely. it just takes patience and time, hate when people give bad advice on something they dont know

---------- Post added at 11:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:07 AM ----------

As ive read on these mustang forums i believe 85% of the guys do not work on there cars, but read a question then go copy and paste an answer off of another post, its same nonsence over and over.

If you want to go fast .. LSx swap that V6.

All you need is K member mounts to get it in there. The rest is wiring and all that fun stuff.

A lot of guys do work on their own cars here. Are you even reading this guys questions? "Can I swap a cobra engine in my V6 with ALL NEW PARTS?" Not only is it super expensive to make a swap like that and I think I read he had a budget of around $5 grand. You really believe you can do a swap like that with little to no experience? I'm just saying dude, READ. Your swap is easy, it's not the coyote 5.0 right? Everyone and their mothers has an old 5.0 swap in their sn95 or new edge

I do hate when people talk like you are not able to do it too so I found a Mach 1 engine for my friend and it has all the stuff on it I'm guessing also the shaker is on it. He was wonder is it better for a 5 or 6 speed? And what is the best site to order one from?

And even still it will never really be a Mach. Sell the v6, buy a low mileage well maintained Mach and enjoy. I couldn't begin to figure what the parts and labor would be but I would imagine its getting close enough to Mach territory that it would be a complete waste of time. If you want to do a swap do something crazy like a turbo 5.4

You can do anything but why clone a numbered Mustang when financially its probably only a couple more grand to get the real thing?
