headlamp adjustment

I have a 2001 mustang and I was wondering how to adjust the headlights. I was driving it tonight(first time ive drove it at night since I bought it a Month ago). The lights are aimed too low cause even with brights on it still didn't help

I've heard to do this you...find a flat driveway or surface that either has a garage door or flat wall. Then pull your car up and start to slowly back up, while getting out and adjusting the lights. Sorry I don't know the small details about this one.
What I do know though is that you can adjust the position of the headlights by using the adjustment knob on the top of the headlight assemblies.

To adjust your headligts, find a nice flat spot with a wall in front of it.
1) Touch your bumper to the wall (or get as close as you can without touching)
2) Mark (with tape or other means) where the center of your headlight beams hit the wall.
3) Back up 25ft.

There are screws on the back side of your headlights. The one towards the inside of the car adjust the vertical aim of the low beam. the one towards the outside of the car adjusts the High beam.

4) Turn the screw the direction needed to adjust the beam until the center matches up with the marks you made on the wall.
