Shifter height problems

Well I installed a double din DVD player in my mustang and it is having problems with my automatic shifters height it has to be forced into park and when it does I'm afraid it's going to bust the screen is there anyway to shorten the rod I was thinking maybe a B&M hammer shifter? Or if anyone knows a cheaper way let me know it is a 1999 and yes I had to do some major mods to the dash to get it to fit lol

They have shifters for manuals that move the shifter back and closer to the driver, need something like that?

I don't have any off the top of my head, but I'm sure that you could find a stick that has some kind of backward curvature to it. And congrats on the custom double-din head unit install! Just did that with mine this fall \m/
