Engine in car has rod through oil pan. I have a complete 1997 Mustang 3.8L. Can I pull the intake, heads, then swap this short block into car using using heads and intake from 1999 engine. I do know the older engine doesn't have the balance shaft like newer engine does. I know lots of folks do the split port swap to the older engine but I wanted someone to say they had used the older short block into newer model. I don't want a V8 swap, I simply want the car back on the road quickly. Thanks for any input if it will work.
Thanks for the reply. All I want to know is if it will work. I understand all the wiring in the 1999 will have to be used along with the split port heads and intake. Both engines are externally balanced, just trying to find out if there is something I'm not seeing.
