Timing chain

My car is getting closer to 100k miles now and I have decided to change the timing chain because I have the money right now and I'm already replacing a lot of parts under the hood. My problem is where is the best place to get one for a 2004 v6? I looked on AM and didn't see that they carried one for my car so I'm wondering where do you guys get your chains for the best deal?

I went 240,000 without changing the timing chains tensor

I'd rather be safe than sorry, and it can't hurt. Plus one I saw online was only like 40-50 bucks.

That's a belt not a chain.

My bad, I know the 2.3 has a belt. I rebuilt one in high school.

Wow that's really cheap... Why would they try and charge 2 grand to replace it. Is it that hard to do? Only reason I ask is because my car idles a bit funny and I've changed almost everything out.

It's not that hard. My uncle charged me $500 and he owns a shop. I did not believe him and it only cost me $500 to find out he was right. Is it back firing or misfiring? The tensor goes bad and you might as well change the chain. Get a estimate from another shop.
