David has a Cobra cluster in his v-6. Yes, it has a safety code that needs to be fixed at the dealership or with a tune turning pats off.

Yes, just tell Bama you want them to turn pats off. They are the ones who told me what to do when my pats messed up. Pats is complicated communication. But the one thing it disables is the fuel pump.

Pats stands for passive anti thief system. If a thief cuts a exact replica key and puts it in your car he can crank it up and steal it. What are the odds. Pats prevents this from happening. But if the thief owns a locksmith scanner he can still steal your car. Bottom line, if you do it do not brag about it.

Pats communicates with a lot of the car: key, cluster, pats box, computer, and it also communicates with several sensors in the engine. If everything comes back positive the fuel pump is turned on. If any errors, the fuel pump cuts off. Your thief light will flash(I took the bulb out). The tuner interrupts the fuel pump cutoff and you drive. You will notice no difference in drivability. This is kind of hard to explain. I am summing up a 20 page pats diagnosis paperwork from Ford.
PATS for dummies translation
I have done a little research on pats. LOL

I know it will work. I think I am explaining this right. The gt cluster has a different code, it sends to the computer. The computer recognizes this code and recalibrates itself to the cluster. 1994-98 you worry about the speedometer gear.

why would you want to put the saleen cluster in? just because of the white back ground? or because it says saleen? I don't understand why you would go thru the trouble
