Check engine light

In some cars, if the check engine light is false, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will clear the light. Is this the case with a '98 6 cyl Coupe?

Yes
Autozone will check it for free. The light is usually on for a good reason.
Which Mustang did you buy for your son?

To my knowledge just for a while, it'll come back on. I've had mine cleared twice and.aways comes back on. I know I just gotta turn off my rear o2 sensor and shimmy-sham-bam

Yeah, that's #1 task Monday after I register the car @ DMV. It's a '98 6 cyl base Coupe.

I'll see what the parts store reader says tomorrow and I'll most likely ask for some follow-up help from you guys.
