K&N filter keeps falling off

I've tried securing it many times, tightened it up real good, pushed it in as hard as i could. I keep opening the hood to find that it has fallen off again. I just got an oil change so hopefully it's ok. I only have a little bit of time after school before work and I might get a new clamp, anyone know where I could get one?

I think Lowe's has a clamp 4 inches in diameter so I will try that, hope the oil change helped me out

Try using isopropyl alcohol to clean the rubber filter inner surface and the mating surface it attatches to. My guess is that it has a bit of oil or grease there and wont bite.

are you sure the filter is all the way on before you tighten? try heating the base of the filter with a blowdryer to soften and you should be able to slide on all the way then tighten

I ran a filter over once because it fell off, I didn't realize what happened until I entered the freeway and I heard this whooshing sound.

It's hard to put the factory filter back in. Mine did not connect right a few times

I cleaned the surfaces with the isopropyl alcohol and I think the rubber is sticking together a little better. It has stayed on so far and I have a new clamp from Lowes just in case so it should be good. Always be sure to push it on all the way.
