GT to V6

Two questions please.

will the GT cats and h pipe bolt directly to the V6?
will the GT auto transmission fit on the V6 directly?
both for 99-04.

Thanks

99-04 gt transmission won't work. A 94-95 gt will work though. The v6 uses the ford smallblock bolt pattern. Which the gt ditched in 96 when it started using the modular 4.6

Looks like your second question was answered... As for the cats, not entirely sure.. But the V6 and GT both use a 2.25" diameter piping.

the other day i saw on graigslist a gt cats and h-pipe that has couple of hundred miles on it for $100 bucks, so i thought maybe it will fit.

Thanks though.

^^ it's a wast of time and money, why would you wanna take off your stock cats and mid pipe just to put on stock cats and mid pipe from a gt?

i want to go for true dual, so i thought this is going to be a cheap way to do it, i already have a gt catback and i need to get the h pipe now.

The Gts have 2 cats instead of 4.

I was looking at a performance exhaust system in my uncles shop. You are probably right.

But I'm still not sure if it has the same length and fitment to the v6 manifolds, that's why I didn't buy it, looks a good deal though.

They won't bolt right up but a little fabrication from an exhaust shop would make them bolt right up

Do you have a pic of yours with the 4 to compare?

You should have two more, can't see them from under the car though. They right below the exhaust manifolds, you can see them if you pop the hood.

Here is what it is supposed to look like man, if they are not there then previous owner could have removed them. If so look for welding marks. Oooo and btw that is a 94 gt mid pipe but yours should look some what like that maybe not as beat up.

Yea by the looks of it they have been removed, do you have a cel? Did your car come with a hand held tuner?

Hmmm, well I would assume having a set of cats removed from the car would cause a cel. Unless the previous owner got mil eliminators. But I'm not 100% sure with your year car

Yeah but as long as it runs good I don't mind. 2 cats are better than 4/6 LOL!! I don't think 2 cats are robbing me if much Hp tbh

Plus I can't even get an offroad mid pipe bc the catback and midpipe are welded together lol

So Imma just leave it as is

Yea for sure leave it as is man, if anything the less cats your gaining power. I would tell bama next time you get a new tune that your running two less cats then stock and you might be able to get more power out of her.

Hmmm that's a good idea. I just wish I could could get long tubes and keep the 2 cats I have.

I got my car at auction with no paperwork and the previous did owner did the exhaust.

He really made my car a PITA

If you really want long tubes look for a shorty catted mid pipe with high flow cats. I think they make something like that. And just junk everything that under there now.

From the looks of your picture I can see four. I there up closer to the engine... Not the mufflers. They have a little bend to them kinda... you have all 4.
