Been posted on here hundreds of times but yeah it's easy. You have to fab your own brackets or find a shop to make brackets for you. Click image for larger version

vapauto.com is where you can buy most of the parts. On a 1-10 scale how good of a mechanic are you? Do you have the factory v-6 hood? Do you live in California, Vegas, or a smog emission testing state? It's one of the more expensive mods but the gains are better than any other mod. The factory 99-03 Mustang is 190 hp 210 tq. The factory Windstar is 200 hp 230 tq. The only difference in the 2 vehicles s the intake.

I looked at vap auto. saw they have most of the parts but not the manifold itself. on a scale of 1-10 id say im about a 7. I know my way around a car but cant do big jobs that require getting to the cam or replacing a clutch. i have the factory hood. most reviews i saw say it wont fit unless you have a tb spacer to angle it slightly downwards to have just enough clearance. the pics from sam62893 look like you could throw a hood scoop over that thing that sticks up. i live in a place that doesnt care about smog so im good there. Im hoping if this is easy and just bolts right up i can get this and then pair it up with the cai and tuner i just bought. you say its one of the more expensive mods...how so? people say they can buy the intake manifold for about 100 and then a few other parts to have a grand total of 400. not too bad to me. i would love to have a supercharger or a turbo and those cost 5 grand haha. not thats up there

You will need to call up vmptuning.com and order their egr delete kit. Their number is 321-206-9369. You will need to order the intake manifold spacer kit, coil pack bracket, angled throttle body spacer, and the marvel bent intake pipe from vmptuning.com.

Here is a thread on how to do it---->Ford Mustang V6 Upper Windstar Manifold Swap - V6Mustang.com
This will not have everything. You will need some wires, crimps, and vacuum hoses.
The thing sticking out is the iac (intake air control). You can relocate it with some work or leave it where it is. If you relocate the iac nothing will stick out of your hood.
I have a extra Windstar intake. I will sell it for $40+$30 shipping. It has a little paint on it and has been covered in Detail Doc. to preserve the plastic.

Intake is the easiest part to get lol. It does bolt right up. You have to do some bending to the coolant line and might snap an o-ring but it's an easy fix. Bought my intake for $45, intake tube $20, plexiglass for brackets $20, hoses/breathers/misc $60 so in total I spent about $145 give it take. And yes I do have a hood scoop and didn't relocate my iacClick image for larger version

You did it without a intake spacer?

well I checked out vmptuning. and didnt find anything that i needed. just the egr delete kit. however i think i can still buy everything from vapauto or something. just not the manifold itself. but if it just bolts right up then should be easy enough for me to do and enjoy the new power haha

Sorry, I was duel tasking. VAPauto has everything but the egr delete. Most people do not have a wielder to close the hole on the header. Also a plate has to be made to cover up the hole in the intake. If you do not buy the egr delete kit.

VAP has some helpful 411 if you download the installation links.

I was a dumb high school senior when i did mine, (i've progressed to dumb college sophomore by now). But as unexperienced as i was it was still fairly simple, it just took like a whole day with the help of david and others on this forum. And you dont nessicarily need to delete the egr, you can extend it if you really want it or need for emissions.

I have everything together, I just like the way the t.b linkage is extended. I'll just make up something. I just ported the lower intake so, I'm very close to being ready

Will this swap work on a 98 v6? Or is it only 99 and up?

You will need 99-04 heads, rocker arms, push rods, lower intake, and cold air intake. Also a tune will be necessary. + Windstar or 99-04 upper intake

I read another article that had everything listed, but is a tune absolutely necessary?
