4.10 shift points question

Getting 4.10s and a lsd in my 2003 auto v6, shop said they would take it for a drive to make sure there's no gear whine. I have a tuner and a bama tune with the firm shifts on it so I was wondering if I should take the tune off when I drop it off so it shifts nice and easy for them testing it out, or do i need to change it to 4.10 when I drop it off?

TorchRed03,

You definitely want to have Bama adjust the shift points for the 4.10 gears. Then upload the new tune in the parking lot of the garage before officially dropping it off. The car will shift at really awkward moments without a tune adjustment. It may be harder for the Tech's to test the vehicle afterwards.

I wouldn't worry about the firmer shifts of the Bama tune personally. It shouldn't effect the Tech's judgement of the gears. However, if you want smoother shifts, you could always request that from Bama as well.

Hope this clears everything up for you!

Shane

Pretty sure it is because of a post I saw from AMDanBailer, but when I go into my 91 tune to adjust options and then change to the 4.10 ratio do the rest of the options stay the same? Like I'll still have the advanced timing right
