white paint turned yellowish

I decided to add two black vinyl stripes on the right side of my white mustang about a year ago. I just removed them this morning but to my suprise, the area the stripes were located left it looking yellow Any idea why that happend and how to make it white again? I already removed the adhesive that was left behind from the vinyl but the yellowish wouldnt come off. Any one know how to fix this problem??

That's odd... it's usually the other way around with fading. The only thing i can think of is the vinyl that was used wasn't good quality and the material sunk into the paint. If that did happen... you'll need a body shop or add stripes again.

You might try some good clearcoat safe rubbing compound and then on top of that some good cleaner wax to see if that helps get rid of it. If not I agree with the other poster you will probably have to reinstall a new set of stripes to cover it.
