Well I only ask because I found a gt tranny for only 200 bucks and I am thinking of replacing mine because it's having some issues.

The engine will never bolt up to the transmission. Auto or standard?

You have to find a 2004 auto that has a 3.9. 19% of 2004 have 3.8s. Unless you are good with wiring.

Nope, the gt's have a 4.6 with a modular bolt pattern. The 3.8/3.9/4.2 use the older small block ford bolt pattern.
