A lot of guys source the Ford Windstar intake manifold from local junk yards. They're fairly cheap and you can clean them up pretty easily with some degreaser and a little time. As far as I know, Ford doesn't produce this intake manifold anymore, so you can't buy one knew from a dealer unfortunately. There may be some other replicated intake manifolds out there too.

Hope this helps!

You can put the 96-98 F-150 4.2 intake on. Probably a 1 out of ten on mechanical knowledge but requires a Cobra racing hood.
96-98 Windstar intake A 4 on mech knol. and you will need parts and previous experience from other modders. But it will fit under the factory hood.
01-03 Windstar intake A 5 on mech. knol. I know one person who has done it. You would need a hood 2 1/2" higher than the factory.

In the 4.2l 96-98 intake will the it bolt straight on to my block? And will they use the same iac and tps and other sensor?

Yes, those sensors are the same. You will need to extend the wires by a few inches. Get a 4.2 cold air intake off Ebay and build a coil pack bracket or buy one from VAP. And add some vacuum lines. It bolts strait up to the lower intake.

I'm not sure what it's called because I'm mechanically challenged, but there is a pully (the very top one, left of the alternator) on my 2000 v6 that was loose and causing a strange ticking/squeaking sound. I have a replacement, but I tightened it a bit and the sound went away. Maybe try that?

You can get them at a salvage yard for like $2, or a new one at autozone for ~$10

I'm confused as to why you would say the 4.2 intake is easier when it's just a wider and taller version of the windstar intake..

The longer runners make it more torque biased (these cars need more top end than low) while it still being made of metal is more susceptible to heat soaking than the plastic of the windstar.

I know how you feel about the 4.2 intake David. but, it is a easy install.

If you buy the right hood, it is a easy install. You need none of the vap/personally fabricate parts except the coil pack mount .No need for a TB spacer, IAC relocation, intake manifold spacer, and the throttle mount is easy.

No worries about bending the fuel injection. The bleeder valve pipe does not have to be messed with. Bent to make work. The egr system does not have to be touched.

Performance intake

Yeah thats right if you have to get a bigger hood you don't have to deal with any clearance issues on any intake haha

Edit: windstar has longer "long" runners and shorter "short" runners than stock intake, you get both benefits.
