I did some slight modding to my 98v6 less hp than yours but the mods helped. I installed an off road h-pipe from jegs 2.25" and a gt stock catback. I had the gt mufflers replaced with two thrush welded chambered mufflers. All hangers where from a gt. I bought the american muscle brand cai and mac underdrive pulleys. I swapped the 7.5 rear with 2.73 gears with a 95gt 8.8 with 3.73gears. I installed the rear quad shocks and used the gt sway bar. The car was far from a dragster, but these mods definitely made a nice improvement in performance. I also had an automatic 4R70w.

The catback exhaust and the cai and all that are useless without a good tuner. If you want the easiest way to add horsepower go to American muscle and get the sr performance cai with the bama tuner. Then you can change the gear ratios but it don't add horsepower but the 3.73 and 3.90 gears will definately put a little more "umph" behind the car.

Add an intake manifold. It made my car gain like 40hp and my v6 is putting down 230rwhp.

Do you have a dyno sheet? And what kind of intake?

The previous owner had it dynoed and it was making 226rwhp and i have added a flowmaster to it so i just gave it an extra 4hp. Let me take a pic of the manifold

Your kidding right? A flowmaster will not give it any horse power....? And unless this previous owner gave you a dyno sheet then he most likely lied to you. Cause there is no way just throwing a intake manifold on a stock car will give you 40 horse power.

What kind of mods do you have on your sixxer? Those are impressive numbers.

Performance Mods that i know of are a cold air intake, intake manifold, flowmaster series 40, coil pack, and probably a throttle body

The swap looks clean, I would put some hose clamps on the cai where it attaches to the maf around the coupler like it has by the tb. Just to make sure everything is sealed. Post a pic of that sheet when you get it

---------- Post added at 05:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 PM ----------

Does it have a dyno tune?

Yea for sure man, the cat delete will pick you up some power for sure, and then a good tune will pick you up more power for all your mods across the car

The biggest problem with my car is the throttle response. Will the tune get rid of that lag?

Basic/somewhat basic go-fast mods:

Custom tune
Quality cold air intake (Steeda, JLT, Airaid, etc.)
True dual exhaust conversion
Long tube headers
High-flow catalytic converters OR off-road midpipe
UDP
Gears
Suspension (UCA, LCA's, etc.)
Coil pack
Performance spark plugs
Performance spark plug wires
Performance intake manifold

Make sure all of your maintenance is up kept as well. Dirty air+fuel filters and throttle bodies can result in poor performance.

Okay then a tune should help you out even more with that lag time. If there is not a problem with the car. But for your next mods should really be a tune and exhaust then gears

Horse power

You have lost your mind if you think you're putting down 232 hp to the ground lol. Even with the wind star swap. Lost it. That's what GT's put to the ground.

That's exactly what I was thinking but I think he was just misinformed by the previous owner and I believing what he said.
