2003 steering and handling

I just got my mustang a few weeks ago. I have been driving it on the interstate and have noticed how loose the steering feels. On anything less than perfect road I can feel it wonder around in the lane and have to correct all the time.

I have looked at the ball joints but don't see any that look worn out. Is this just they way the 2003 handles?

From what I've seen, a lot of people first look at the rag joints in the 96-04 era mustangs. If they are fine, it seems that the steering column is what seems to have a defect. However, if you look up the method of swapping it out, you can generally find one for $40 or $50 on eBay. And it doesn't need to be the same year. It could be an 04 or even previous years.

Don't just take my word for it, look further into it. But I'm going through the same issues right now and those are the two steps I have to go through.

Let me know if that helps, I'll also keep you updated on what works for me.

~ Eric

If you bring your car to a shop. They will tell you what is wrong with your car. Just refuse the work and do it your self.

Until they pull the "we can't legally let it leave like this" card. Xfree make sure you do CC plates too if you haven't already or you'll be buying new front tires before long.
