A 4th gen v6 for about $1000, possible? Non dd.

Hi everyone! I am currently looking for a car for autocrossing, my daily driver is still on the warranty so I kind of feel bad beating on it like that (not that I haven't done it haha) anyways, my budget is about a thousand bucks, I am partial to imports but I really like the 4th gen mustangs too, and the fact that they are rwd adds excitement. Ideally, it can be stinky cosmetically but must be sound mechanically, I will be driving it only to/from the events (I do not have a trailer) and of course, at the events. I do not want to sink a lot of money into it. I am fine with the v6, but it has to be manual. Is it possible to find something like that for the budget that I have? What are some common issues with the 4th gen v6? Best years, etc? Oh, and I'm in San Francisco Bay Area.

Cheers!

Well, sorry about that. I just assumed that the first years of 4th gen were already getting to that age and the v6 wouldnt be in as high of demand as the v8. What about the 3rd gen then?

I mean yeah you can find a cheap version of any car. Its just gonna be completely messed up. Look into the 94-98 v6 mustangs. Those would be around 1000-2000 with very high miles. All depends on your area tho

I see 94-98 mustang V6's selling cheap all the time, usually needs some work though. Like a head gasket or something.
