How wide of tires

I have the 16 inch 5 spoke rims on my mustang with 215/60R16 tires on it I am getting new tires in a few days and I wanna know how wide I can go on these rims when looking up my car on tire sights it brings up 215 and 225 so I was hoping I could do at least 235. And for the biggest I can go what should my aspect ratio be.

P.S. I don't know if this will change anything the original rims on my car were the 15 inch 6 spoke rims they had 205s on them I don't know the aspect ratio but they were Kelly charger GTs

I would go with 255/55/16's. That will give you a wider tire, slightly less sidewall and you won't rub your sway bar at full lock.

OK so that wouldn't mess with my wheel speed sensor to much or at all?

I don't believe so as the factory 16" 5 spokes came with Goodyear Eagle 255/55/R16's.

I still have them on my factory 5 spoke wheels and they never had any problems, speedo was dead on as well.

I just re-read my recent posts, I made an error. I meant to say 225/55/16, not 255's.

255's will be too wide on that size rim. Try for 225/55/R16's.

How wide of a tire u can fit depends on how wide your wheels are!

Fitment matters of the size of the wheel and also where you are putting it. No more than a 275 up front without an SLA front suspension conversion. You can put nearly anything in the back.

You could probably get away with a 235 but I wouldn't go much wider.

Try this tire size calculator:

Tire rack said optional rear tire size 245/50/16 and on the tire calculator its only 0.6% off what do you think of that or should I just stay with 225/55s or 235/55s

I would stick with factory specs or maybe a tiny bit wider. To go with wider rubber, you should invest in a wider rim.

Not having checked I would guess that 225's would be noticeably cheaper than 240's...

Either way I'd stick with 225's or the 235's as the widest option. As mentioned above a wider tires truly warrant wider wheels.
