At the bottom of the lower intake you have to worry about poor atomization. Poor atomization also produces an engine that does not run well, since the mixture entering the cylinders varies on each bore and cycle. This potentially creates an unstable idle, tip-in hesitation, and a general lack of performance, along with a higher rate of fuel consumption. Thus, it's very important for the fuel to be completely atomized. For the engine to perform as designed, the maximum possible chemical-to-mechanical energy conversion must occur.
I can tell you how to port the upper intake if you are interested? It is only worth 3 hp. unless the intake is cut open polished and welded back together. If you do the lower intake also YOU WILL GAIN 8-10 HP.
