Traded 1999 for 1998 problem

First of all I traded my mustang the 1999 for the 98 (terrible trade) it has a radiator problem only two in Michigan for sale and now the theft light came on when I was going down the road shut the car off so got it back to my house don't know what's wrong with it. I read that it could be the key, the PATS system or something else it's a daily driver I talked to auto-zone and they said it could be the key so bought a ignition just put it in don't know if that was a bad move but need help fast thx
