Better have good suspension and tires then. Even in my car I have pretty good suspension and it's not even good enough to launch with the 4.10s. Granted it is a GT, but the same principle applies.

I would say it's the opposite. The majority are mpg conscious and the minority mod their cars and don't care about the mpg

God some of the bull **** in this thread is ridiculous...
OP 4.10s aren't gonna rape your gas mileage. Learn how todrive with the new gears and you'll be fine. I picked up about 1 mpg city but haven't bothered to take a highway drive to calculate that mpg. Needless to say I haven't seen a decrease in the limited highway driving that I do end up doing.

Yeah there's bull**** in this thread.. And id say it's about all the GAINS ppl are saying. Gears DO rape your gas mileage. If you think having 4.10 and and auto with 4 gears isn't gonna do that you're crazy. Most of my gas mileage was driving like a grandma. It was better when I drove like a nascar driver. This is 100% city. Don't get me started on the highway. I let all the Internet forum people convince me that I would still get decent mileage after install. This was completely false, as I have personal experience and my car had minimal mods.

They are an awesome mod and I do not regret doing it, but beware taking advice from people on the internet

That'd be the only reason I could see yours getting worse mileage than mine.

Lol uhh its not all about what people say, its research and calculation. Not speculation and rash statements. I calculated that with the 4 speed auto and 4.10 gears i could drive at 65mph at 2300ish rpms. thats up from 1900 with 3.27s. With that being said, gas mileage will go down but definitely not in the toilet.

Yup the calculations online didn't match my speedo after gear install. It revved higher than the online calculator. Like I said this is REAL life things I went through. This is not internet jnfo recycling

I don't remember exactly how much it was because my car is wrecked now. But I think it was somewhere in the range of 2500 rpm at 65mph maybe a little higher

It did pretty bad on the Los Angeles freeways on account of having to speed in order to not get run over by other drivers LOL. It used to fly though

Does it pull harder and feel more torquey in every gear?

Hell yeah!!!!! The thing that sucks about gears is that once you get them, you CANNOT go back to stock. It will feel like a giant turd lol

Hell yeah it's awesome! What really costs a lot is the installation (depending on where you live). Since most mechanics don't mess with differentials and it's not something MOST people can do In their garage/driveway

Yeah i found a real professional place to do it though. They only specialize in differential work and gears.

Oh that's great. Do you have a tuner to correct your speedo?

My car runs at 2700 I think at 80ish. That's with 3.73 though. I can check for more precise rpms at certain speeds after work if you want.

Mach's have 3.55 stock though so it wasn't as big of a jump. So they'd probably drop 1 more mpg than you but it's small.

That's a very general statement. I didn't lose any gas mileage when I swapped to 3.55s from the 3.27s.

That is true about the 3.55 but everyone is saying how 4.10s will kill your mpg when it all matter how you drive and what kind of driving you do.

I have an 04 v6 auto and the gas change when I went to 4.10s was really not bad. I don't even hardly notice it!
