Drivetrain recomendations/questions

Well Im looking for good brands for the following as I plan on lightening the car up substantially and redoing the entire drivetrain in prep for the TT or M112 kit I should be getting sometime in the future.

Transmission: What fits? I know I have a T5 now, Im only planning on making 600whp at most on this car, so whats a good transmission?

Obviously Ill be getting an 8.8 rear with 3.73 gears and T-lock/posi. I was told this will bolt right in so Im assuming I can use a GT aluminum drive shaft as well?

Clutch/Flywheel. Whats a good combination? Brand? I know I dont need it but I want it to rev quickly and I know this will help so whats a good lightweight flywheel?

finally, the suspension. Im going with eibach springs (since they come with the tubular K) all around with Tokico shocks/struts. Is this a good combination? What multi-link sway bars should I go with? Finally the most important part. Ill be getting 17x8 in front and 18x10.5's for the rear summer wheels, whats a good tire and size for these?

Are you paying someone to do all this work? It seems like you have a lot of research to do before the project starts.

I would start with just getting to know your car and the differences between the models in your generation.

Also look at promotion or g-force t-5 transmissions for 600 hp handling.

I would go with a stage 2+ because of the better daily driver characteristics.

Remember with the spec flywheel you can use the GT's 10.5" clutch or the V6's 11".

Re: Drivetrain recomendations/questions

did you read any of the orignal post he said 600hp i would say stage 3 would be alot better in that situation. The drivability issue with spec clutches is not bad at all. Stage 2 feels lighter than a stock clutch.

A stage 2+ clutch has better drivability and handles 635 lb-ft vs the 685 of the stage 3. I would spend the extra cash for the 2+ because you never know when you are going to get stuck in rush hour traffic.

Re: Drivetrain recomendations/questions

I found out my buddies GT has the stage 3 kit, after a roll through town (and considering 99% of my driving is highway) I will be going with the stage 3 clutch. Its alot softer at the pedal than I expected. Thanks for all the help guys.
