In Need of Help Identifying Engine Part

Hello, I have a 2001 v6 and noticed that a part (black pipe) which can be seen in the included picture is broken. I hope someone can tell me what it is called and it's function so I can go pick up a replacement. Thanks

That would appear to be a pcv hose. It just sucks hot air and moisture out of your valve cover you can go get a rubber hose and just slide it over

Its called a crankcase vent hose (and connector). May not be available anymore from the dealer as an OEM part. Perhaps a trip to a local junkyard can get you a replacement.

If it's just the rubber tube ends (connectors), you can get those pieces at a good auto parts store.
