As with all used cars, check tires, coolant, shocks (push on the body above a shock and look for excessive bouncing), and body defects. Also check oil, and make sure that its not full if chunks and/or tiny metal flakes. Rev the engine (not too high) and make sure that it reaches all ranges of rev easily and without hesitation or any kind of commotion. Also, make sure that it's not really rusty or bondo'd to kingdom come. Be weary of how many miles it has, and make sure that it shifts nicely. When you test drive, make sure that there are no squeaks or squeals that you are unaware of. Test the radio, but don't drive with it on. That way you can listen to the car. And as always, be ABSOLUTELY SURE that it has blinker fluid ;D Best of luck, man.
Oh, and you might want to check the Car Fax. They are nice for seeing if the car was ever totaled.
