40th anniversary v6 needs more HP!

I need some suggestions on getting more power to my wheels without making too many changes to the engine and maintaining the originality of the Mustang

A tune, cold air intake, and dual exhaust is a great start

8.8 with 4.10s. Don't put new gears in your old 7.5 rearend.... It's a waste.

Hows it a waste? Unless your gonna supercharge or turbo your car or run slicks, a 7.5 is perfect....it holds up some decent hp. 4.10s and t lok would be good for a 7.5. Thats what i have

From what i've read and seen, 7.5's arn't good...

didn't the GT's have the 7.5 for awhile, when the 5.0 only had like 150hp.
When they got the 5.0 HO 225hp, they got 8.8's right?
I don't see why you'd put your faith in a rear-end that was replaced the 8.8.

it's not a big weight difference, gears and parts are easier to get for the 8.8 too.
The GT's come with T-lok from the factory too.
I spent $200 and got a stock GT rear, I'd love to put 4.10's in it later on.
I also wouldn't mind a 5-speed swap and split-port conversion

I appreciate all the tips and advice my main goal is to maintain the originality I've got dual exhaust already working on the cold air intake and working on flash writing the system other than that I just need the little tweaks to push what I already have to its full capability

Lol wat?
I have a 7.5" axle that came out of an 04 v6 that has 4.10s and a t-lok in it. Where did you get this info?

All depends on your options dude. 8.8s in my area were ridiculously overpriced. My point is that if you're the average modded who does bolt ons, tune, and gears, you have no reason to a 8.8.
