Need a new fuel pump

I have a 2000 V6 Mustang 3.8L. I've been researching for a whole day looking and comparing prices. I currently cannot afford a whole new fuel pump w/assembly. Wanting to know your opinion of what good fuel pump to buy without breaking my wallet. I want to just swap out the pump, strainers, wiring and gaskets. Please help please. Thanks

Mine is on it's way out. I was wondering if I should get an oem or a bigger one? Would my gas mileage go down the drain if I bought a bigger one? Thanks guys.

I needed a fuel pump a while ago and got mine from EBay and it was fairly reasonable. Lots of automobile wholesalers have stores on EBay. I would suggest that and see what you get.

I hope this helps...

@devanslive Yeah I agree with you. I've been on ebay almost all night, looking at reviews of the seller, all no good reviews and products. I'm still researching. Thanks for the info

So did you ever find a good deal on a fuel pump? If so, where from?

I had mine replaced and the sending unit is also included. It's one unit in case anyone doesn't know. I stuck with the Ford one that is suppose to be an upgraded one. Usually I find a code for Advanced Auto and save a ton. I did NOT LIKE SPENDING THE 200 on it. I was told the aftermarket part might not be as reliable. Pain in the butt to install too if the thing goes.

Only need a bigger pump if u have mods that include bigger injectors. Even if u did get a bigger one ur fuel flow is regulated at the manifold so fuel mileage should not be affected

They do make rebuild kits if ur tech savvy they are less than $100 and u can get the screen for $10-20 and gasket for around $10
