Tuning and Mods questions

Hey guys, so I have a 2000 v6, was just wondering what tuners you guys suggest and are worth it. Dont have a ton a money to throw, but just looking for a lil more get up and go.

And thoughts on BBK CAI?. Also if you guys have any other suggestions for more horsepower for cheap, please let me know.

Sct tuners r best. Honestly all CAI r the same just different brands so they all work the same unless they have bigger pipes to draw in more air. So to save money u can get the SR PREFORMANCE one from american muscle thats the one I have n it works just as good as all others

It cost $150 for sct to fix that^
Not worth buying a locked tuner

Luis Ortiz tuned my car and did a phenomenal job with it.

Tuning and Mods questions

$150 for a married tuner (rip off lol)
$150 to have it unlocked
$150 for new tunes
=
$450 total, over spending

If you buy a used tuner make sure it's unlocked, saves a huge amount of hassle

Spend $400 once for an SCT X4 with lifetime tunes and you'll be set.

No. SR = Sh*tty Replacements. I would never buy their products. Same with BBK. Do a little research, its not just pipes and a filter.

On a 3.8 it doesn't matter which cai you choose it's very minimal gain at best

CAI's are very controversial topic. Especially with all the variables (make, model, brand, NA vs. FI, etc.). Typically, yes, with any generic 'CAI' you should expect minimal gains [in most situations].

My point was a CAI isn't just a tube and filter. If you want to read about where I'm coming from, I'll leave it below.

Quote:
In the automotive business, you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap underperforming intake and tune – there are plenty available to choose from. But if you want a serious CAI that is designed, engineered, and manufactured under strict ISO 9001-2008 Certified standards and one that will stand up to the test of time on the track, dragstrip, or on the street – the solution is really simple – let us explain the simple truth about Mustang Cold Air Intakes and Performance Tunes: - See more at: Why Steeda Cold Air Intakes Blow Away The ‘Competition’ | Steeda Blog

'Too big' can be counter-productive, however.
