03 v6 mustang suspension

Well previous owner of car had cut the springs 2" and now im having problems with it. I feel and hear(squeaky) every little bump. What could it be? Shocks? Springs? I dont want to take it somewhere where they will charge me to drive around just to figure out what it is.

Basically when i hit a bump it makes a sound like 2 thin metal peices scrape lightly on each other. Another example is it sounds like something may need to be oiled up but i checked my grease points on the suspension and theyre all good. Im thinking it could be the shock absorbers.

It could be old worn shocks and struts.

It sounds like the springs rubbing/grinding against the a-arm seats. I'd pull a spring out and inspect it. I'd be willing to bet if the previous owner just cut the springs, they probably didn't throw the isolators back on or wrap the ends. Not doing this will cause the springs to rub on every little bump in the road.

It's worth a look before dropping the money on new shocks/struts that may not need to be replaced yet.
