More HP. V6 Mustang.

Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum. I just bought another car. A 2003 Sonic Blue Mustang V6. I installed a K&N performance cold air intake. I just got it a month ago. I tried to get a GT but all the ones I found in my area were automatic or manual convertible! Which I don't like convertibles :/. Anyways what I want to know is how can I receive more horsepower in my car? I want to buy a SCT tuner from americanmuscle. Is that a good brand? What else can I do? Any tips would be helpful! Thanks.

Tune is a good start. Although you can buy the tuner I'm selling for 200 and then spend 100 on times for life and save about $70 in all

05 Gt Premium Performance White, flowmaster outlaws, Jlt Series 3, Bama 91r tune

@natestang07 What kind of tune do you have? How would we do this transaction because I've never purchased anything online besides a few things from amazon. Are you sure it would work for my mustang because some only work for Cobras or Machs or the newer kind.

He's selling the actual handheld tuner that you plug into the car for tuning. The handhelds like the sct ones work on all mustangs. Its the actual tune files (not tuner) that are by car. If you were to buy his tuner, it's up to you to find a company you like that creates tunes like MPT or Bama, they send you the tunes via email, you load them onto the handheld then upload them onto the car.

and is that a cobra badge on your car that's in your pic? If its a v6 with a cobra badge.. pls no

No it's not a cobra badge lol. I'm not dumb. I would never place a cobra badge or GT or anything if it's not a cobra. It's a V6 it has a K&N decal. I didn't know if I should put it on or not or where to put it on so I put it under the stock badging. Not sure if I should take it off or not. I wish she was a cobra. But I still love my V6.

Congratulations on your new Mustang! Post up some more pictures. I'd love to check it out!

A tune is definitely a great mod. The more modifications you add to the car, the more power and gains you'll see from the custom tune!

If your car is bone stock the gains won't be huge but they'll definitely be there. Once you start to add exhaust, intake, throttle body, gears etc.. the tune will become very important!

Let us know if we can be of any assistance or if you have any questions at all. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Welcome to the site and congrats on your new 03 Sonic Blue Pony!

My first car/mustang is my 03 SB v6 that I got back in 05, and I still have it today.

Exhaust, intake and a tune are great bolt on starter mods. They aren't overly difficult to install and help you learn about your car. It's amazing what a couple hours of wrench time will teach you.

I have a set of Bama tunes from American Muscle. They are decent tunes that definitely wake up the car compared to stock. The auto transmission shift points/firmness benefit the most. I also have a Diablosport Predator for my Mach 1. I do prefer the SCT's interface, but the Predator isn't unbearable by any means.

I'd start with the basic mods and establish some goals from there out. The v6's, like any car can make big power, it all depends on your wallet. I decided I was going to keep the six but wasn't going to sink that kind of money into her so I picked up my "within reach" dream mustang, my Mach 1 a few months ago.
