Ford racing gears. If you have an auto get 4.10s. Manual is realistically gonna be better with 3.73s (with 4.10s your first gear is rendered useless)

As for the limited slip diff, look on ebay for used ones for good deals. Dont pay 400 for one. I got mine for 80

People lose gas with gears (like me) mainly do to the fact that you cant stop giving the car gas because the torque is just so damn fun. But on highway your rpms are higher so you do lose 2-3 mpg. But really its mainly how you drive with them, drive perfect shifting low with little gas given and you wont notice that much of a difference. There are no particular sellers, just look for ANY 28 spline 7.5 ford LSD or posi (same thing jus different name)

4.10s won't make a manuals first gear useless (4.10 owner here)

They are great around the city. Actually picked up mpg in the city. I like the 1st gear better cause it's shorter than before. I always felt like the car was lugging with the other gearing. I also like to accelerate a lot so I'm always going through the gears.

With a manual you get to pick where you shift. I shift around 3k or so and that's around 15-17 mph

Yeah that wastes gas tho, if you shifted at 2k at like 8-10 mph you can save a bit

I was just thinking about that. It wouldnt matter in my case where i am shifting since mine is a manual. I do enjoy quicker accel. It seems like 3.73-4.10 are both fun to drive , i do hear great reviews about both.

To see the difference between them torque/ acceleration wise.

Engine output of torque x trans gear ratio x gear ratio

Except you're just gonna bog the engine and waste more gas thay way. I picked up about 1mpg city with my 4.10s and that's driving exactly the same as I drove the car when it had 3.55s and 3.27s.

I honestly don't know how they would be with a V6, I enjoy them on my GT for the most part. If you can find a local guy with something similar and will let you ride/drive then that would be great. Just as a reference point I'm crossing the quarter mile at about 5k rpms in 4th gear so you'll be going through the gears quite rapidly. With my 3.55s I was barely hitting 4th gear
