Rev Limiter?

My 01 v6 mustang revs up to about 4,500 rpm and just holds in neutral. Does that come stock with most mustangs or is that a mod? I bought the mustang from a dealer with no info on previous owner mods.

Yeah they have a stock rev limiter when the car is in neutral and your not moving mine is a manual and revs to 4,000 and sounds like a two step ignition system it's pretty cool!

Nice dude, yeah I was just wondering because I've never really seen any other stock cars that do that. I just have minor mods on my stang right now. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it or sell it the end of this year.

Yeah bro it should be able too, just throw it in neutral and hammer it. If the v6 can do it im sure other model/years can too.

Yeah bro that's what mine does, just try put it in neutral and slowly gas it at first until right before red line and it should stop at like 4000-4500 rpm and just bounce there.

Eh yeah i guess it depends on your preference really I don't like extremely loud exhaust but a nice deep tone is always cool. I just have a flow master muffler and stock pipe and it doesn't sound bad at all. Not as loud as a v8 but a nice deep solid tone.
