No Heat And Over Heating

Ok, Hopefully someone can help. I put in stuff for a head gasket leak and now I have no heat and it is overheating. The stuff I put in said to add to the rad when the car was cold, then run at idle for 15 min with the heater on full and on the floor setting. But I forgot to turn the heat on. So any advice on what it could be, I'm hoping its just the thermostat, I bought one so that is the first thing I am going to replace, then the water pump if the thermostat doesnt fix it. I'm hoping I didnt clog up the heater core. Is there anyway to check if it is the thermostat? Any advice would be great.

Put thermostat in hot water see if it opens. Also u should be able to pull the heater core hoses on the fire wall to see if coolant is getting to it

Turning the heat on affects nothing about how that stuff works, most likely clogged the rad and heater core making you lose heating and the car itself overheating. Any type of stop leak stuff like that has a good risk of messing up something.
