99 v6 vs 06 v6

What would my 99 need to beat a stock 06 v6. My dumbass friends think that newer is always faster.

I'd imagine not much, but I've never raced the two. Internet says:

99' V6 190hp/225 tq ~3,000 lbs
06' V6 210hp/240 tq ~3,300 lbs

Depends on the race. If it's at the drag strip I'm sure the better driver would win. If it's a test of the actual car (usually a roll) then it'll need a bit more. Those are all really easy mods anyway. The 99-04 V6s are pushrods.

Do you have a race tune on it? I'm sure that would help especially if it's an automatic

Basically port polish upper/lower intake, egr delete with port work, windstar mainifold, cai, true duel exhaust, and a throttle body. I have been told that a dyno tune was done to it but it doesnt feel like it

I have all the same mods you do. Either dunk or get a handheld tuner and put a 8.8 rear end in with some 4.10 gears and you then go dyno it.... You should beat them. The next thing to make sure there's no doubt get a cam and you'll be golden. I'm just saving up for a tuner and a rear end
