Hi, I am new here and I want to know if a 2000 Mustang V6 it has some little mods and I would use it as a daily driver . The car is to a friend of the family and is very clean. I just want to know if you would recommend it for my first car ?Click image for larger version

I think that it would make a great first car!
You need to remember, though, that it is a 15 year old car and there will likely be some things that will go wrong with it.
Maybe, have someone who is knowledgeable about Mustangs, or cars in general, take a look at it and give you there opinion about the overall mechanical condition of the car.

Its a good dd. There will be a lot of stuff that will need to be replaced like almost all the suspension stuff 😪 also might be a coincidence by both mustang and my gfs sisters mustang's alternator went bad and we both have new edge V6s

Thanks, and for the parts I think it wont be bad as a honda (: And anyway I wanted to change the suspension springs because the car is high on wheels and add sway bars later.... But I'll start by having the money for the Mustang.

From the picture it looks like it was loved. None of us can tell w/o seeing it in person. It's a Ford so parts are available and somewhat cheap. I will say a Stang (esp V6) for a 1st car is a good choice because you never forget your 1st......

I have a 99 v6 mustang and it was my first car and still my dd. I've had mine for 6 years and I've only had to replace the tires and routine maintemce like any other car! V6 mustangs are great first cars since they are cheap for our years and get decent gas mileage and have a good amount of hp for a daily driver and someone that will wreck a v8 since their a 16 year old lol.

Swapping out the suspension was the first thing I did and easy. It'll help you learn how to do basic maintenance and how to work on your car yourself. Your first mods should be new springs, true duel exhaust or an off road h pipe, new coil pack, CAI, and then a hang held tuner. Those are the cheap basic things you'll need for your stang!

I had a 2000 v6 a few years ago, and i beat the hell out of it. Never had a problem with it. Only thing that ever went bad was a spark plug wire shorted out and had to be replaced. Other than that, All I ever replaced were the tires and a tensioner pulley. Sold that car at 125k miles.

Save for a v8 these sixers dont make power and they dont have a good resell value. A v8 is about $1,000 more right now and its worth every penny

Not exacly 100% true. Bought my sixxer for $3200 with 105k on it, drove it til 125k for a couple years, and dumped it off on the next buyer for $3600. The cars aren't the most expensive, but if you take care of them, you can get your money back from them. And truth be told, that car was really nice in the winter. I just weighted down the trunk and had a decent set of all seasons on, and it drove way better than expected. OP I think you'd be satisfied with that car for awhile. Especially since it's so clean.

Nope. Pretty reliable cars. The 3.8 had the exact same bore and stroke as the old 5.0. It is essentially the same engine, just missing 2 cylinders.

Lol basically. It has the windstar upper intake ported, cai, and duel exhaust and other stuff that adds little to no hp.

Well, It'll make power. Such is the case with the 4.6 2V, all it takes is money. You suggesting a 2V gt to make power isn't exactly the smartest route either, tbh. Keep in mind, you can make anything fast with the right amount of cash. Also, I don't think someone looking for their first car is looking to put down big numbers. Just my .02.

If its his first car he doesn't need power. Its a good looking car and a good first car. Everyone doesn't need a v8 😑

Fair enough , I'm in the same boat now. My parents bought my car so I had to get a v6. But I'm making the best out of it. For what it is I love it and they're great cars
