99 v6 won't turn over

So my car won't start for the first time since I bought it in 2008. I put a new battery in it last summer and it tries to turn over so I know it isn't the battery. It sounds like it always does when I go to start it and the battery doesn't sound weak.

So it must be the starter or the solenoid then correct? How do I tell which one it is? I can change them both myself I just need to know which one is bad.

It tries to crank just fine it just won't turn over.

The solenoid is in our starter in the 99-04 Mustangs. Should be a easy fix other than getting out the top starter bolt.

Well hopefully it's the starter and nothing worse. I looked up how to get the old one out and everybody did say the top
Bolt sucks lol. I'm gunna try and jump it off but I know the battery isn't dead so jumping it of is just to put my mind at ease lol

You need several extensions and a elbow. Look underneath the motor mount ,look at the starter, and you will see the bolt. You will need to put the extensions below the motor mount. The bolt will come off with a little patients.
