Could be the internal design of the intakes could be the key. the new edge mustang could have a more efficient design than the sn-95. Plus where the intake mounts to the heads could be a different pattern.

99-04 is the split port.........that's why they are 40hp better than 94-98....
Some people prefer the 99-00 intake with the no-butterflies.....Me personally, just being an n/a daily driver, I left them in. If I were f.i. I'd take them out.
Thanks for the info I've been looking for a lower but all I fin is 01-04 but no 99-00 so I just wanted to know the difference, so the butterflies are the only difference, cool
