Odometer cuts off

Hey guys, I've got a question. So, every now and then when I'm driving, the odometer will turn off and stop reading. It comes back on after a while of driving, and reads correctly, but it is still rather annoying. Anyone might know what this is?

My '02 does the same thing! What I'm thinking it is, is a cold solder...I've looked over other forums with others having the same issue. One person took their cluster apart and checked it out for cold solders and low and behold that's what their issue stemmed from. I just haven't made the time to pull mine apart and check... Hope this helps!

It could be a loose connection. I've had a very similar case happen with a 1997 Dodge Caravan. The connectors in those vans were garbage from the beginning and there's no REAL fix to it unfortunately for me. But I'm almost positive there are many aftermarket cluster connectors that will give a better connection for the mustang. Worst case scenario you may have to buy a whole new cluster and get it calibrated to the right mileage.

At least I am not the only one that has been having this issue. My 02 does this and it makes it difficult to clear my mileage accurately when I fill up my tank. I am afraid I have no clue what a cold sodder is so I wouldn't know what to look for in that case.
