Mystery button

When I got my 97 auto I noticed it came with this button behind the steering wheel. I thought it was a traction control switch but I have no way of really knowing. Any ideas? Click image for larger version

Do you have foglights? It could be the aftermarket switch for the foglights that may have been added to your car. All speculation without actually seeing your car.

The last owner put an aftermarket bumper on it with fog light cutouts but to my knowledge there are no lights/wires anywhere

Well as the switch still has power obviously, I'd start lookin for things going on and off lol. It could be lights or stereo component like an amp. Underglow lights auxiliary fan? A hot wire that doesn't go to anything could lead to a fire!

Mystery button

Yeah the previous owner Frankensteined an after market stereo into it and there were wires everywhere so it could've been a switch to the amp that was in there. I've been driving it for about 8 months and haven't had any problems with it yet
