V6 vs ???

Was wondering about what cars you guys have raced and the outcome. Just raced an rx8 with my 03 stock v6. I had a lot more torque so I won. But what have you guys raced?

Our V6s are so slow that I avoid the humiliation and ego of getting owned by a 2000 SI Civic. Truly embarrassing

Can a stock 6er even out win against a TC?
What year RX8 btw

Haha... That's true, it's hard out here for a v6! It was an 05 rx8 manual. 0-60 race

This does not mean to be an insult but can the RX8 not drive? If it was an automatic this is a different story but a manual I think has 238 on the crank. And I think an Rx8 in a 1/4 runs a flat 15 on a manual. How in the world did you beat him? A stock auto 6 runs 16.2 in a 1/4 mile. A stock manual 6 runs 15.8

Hahahahhaha he's a decent driver... But i managed to get a good launch, barely any wheel spin. Shifted close to red line and by 3rd gear I beat him already. It was a close race tho. He might of made a mistake at launch tho.

V6 with decent bolt on and changing to lower control arms and reduce weight these cars aren't too bad. The biggest problem is a lot of missing parts like a tlock and rear sway bar and too much weight for being a v6

I disagree

3,069lbs is pretty light.

Just saw somewhere online 3114 weight wise which isn't bad but remember at wheels 160hp isn't great for that

Mine tears up any v8 camaro/firebird below the catfish body style. I have beat a fox and a 94-98 v8 also. But none of this cars had serious mods.

The info you're getting is wrong. A coupe V6 3.8 New Edge is 3069lbs curb weight.

A buddy of mine has a 2011 scion tc2 and from any dead start he will pull on me, but for the most part any 30 or 40 rolls it's super close but the v6 will manage to hold up lol it's honestly sad

Haha yeh i have a lot of respect to rx8 owners! You must give lots of love and care for that kind of car. Maybe by sheer luck i won, idk if it makes a difference my car has 85k miles. so its probably in better condition than the rx8

I raced a NPI gt with 3.73's and 100 shot, he wasn't too far away but I still won. Raced multiple 3.7 mustangs, they're all slow lol. A new (2011) SS auto camaro at the track also down surprisingly, they're not as much fun as the manual guys to race. Those are just what I remember off hand.

With my 95 manual I would beat all types of Hondas and other ricers. I mean honestly the only thing they may have modified is there paint. I'll never own a automatic mustang. Unless it's fords 6 speed race tranny. Stock I can get high 14's. Pull some weight and fuses, cut some wires basically take all the safety **** off and she'll go. But it's wear and tear.

I was running the same times as stock foxbody 5.0 w/automatic. literally the same times, winner was whoever could launch the fastest. He was surprised, and I was really surprised...

I did beat a 240sx that was running. I run high 15's.
last pass I made was last year, they charge $5 a time slip... so I bought only 1. it was 15.60 quarter mile. Hoping to runs a few tenths faster this year, like 15.40's... haven't done much except some new transmission fluid, and coil pack, wires, spark plugs...

High 14's with a stock manual?!

I'd say mid 15's would be pretty effin heroic for a stock single port v6...

With all the limiters disconnected and no muffler had a bit more mid-way. Launch and third she opens wide. I eventually broke the crank. But yeah high 14's. I don't know much about mods but I can tear into the Motor and turn some screws and push stock hard.

The singleports die off before they even break 5000rpm, revving higher just makes them slower

Just the other night I was rolling at about 35 when a Audi 2L turbo came up real hot so I smashed the pedal and stayed nose to nose with him while his turbo was whistling. I let off because we were up to about 60.

That's with a 00' V6 auto with a CAI, and true dual exhaust. This was right after changing my plugs, wires, oil/filter, and fuel filter. I Dont know what year the Audi was but it was around the 2000 model

I have a SVT contour and beat a v6 and 4.6 mustang in the same day. But the 4.6 was and auto with no mods, it was close.
