Rattling/Clunking Sound While Idle
I drive a 2004 V6 automatic with 135K miles on it.
Up until about a week ago, it sat in my driveway for about 6-8 months and was not being driven. I decided to start driving it again but had to replace the altenator because it kept dying on me (I had to keep charging the battery to get it to run). Now that the alternator is replaced, it starts and runs just fine and I am able to drive it again.
However, about a couple days after it being driven again, it started making a rattling/clunking noise while I'm idle. It's coming from under the hood but it doesn't start right away. Only after I've driven it for a bit. And, it only makes the sound when I'm idle at a stop light or something. It stops once I'm accelerating and it stops if I throw it into park.
Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance for the help!
