Stereo Issues

Four weeks ago I purchased a 2004 Mustang Convertible 40th anniversary edition.
Installed is the Mach 460 sound system. The woofers were not working at the time of purchase, but I thought replacing the speakers was all I needed to do. I replaced the rear woofers with 4 ohm Kicker replacements to no avail. I'm reading that only 8 ohm speakers will work even though Crutchfield has an assortment of 4 ohm speakers that they claim will work. All connections are intact. The fuse for the woofers is fine. Can the amps be bad? How can I test the amps to ensure they are working? The front and rear tweeters are still working. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help. Looking forward to some fun discussions.

You have to replace the amp also if you replace the speakers

I think only the mach 1000 had the subs. Anyways if you have dvc subs there is a way to make them 8 ohms

Will do, Thanks for the tip. I'm on my way to purchase a multi-meter to test the amps. I'll post my findings.

Thank you. My next move is to test the amps to see if they're working.
