Sounds like the stock remote if that's what it is has either bad battery or needs programing I'd check the battery first

well it seems that the 5 speed doesnt have the drive away door locks and the "alarm" is not one..it means the car has to have a chip key to be started..only a ford engineer would come up with this..

Ever since the mid 90s most things have had some sort of system where you need a microchip in the key to start the car. This is not a Ford exclusive thing...

WAS TALKING ABOUT HAVING A FLASHING RED LIGHT ON THE INSTERMENT CLUSTER AND CALLING IT A PASSIVE ALARM SYSTEM...............................................................................

NO ALARM ON CARTOOK ABOUT 1 DAY FOR CAR THIEFS TO FIGURE IT OUT

OH AND BY THE WAY,I KNOW THE CHIP KEY SYSTEMS ARE ON THE CARS YOU CAN TAKE A VERY STRONG MAGNET AND START CAR WITHOUT THE CHIP .

I HAVE MADE A REAL GOOD LIVING AS A MASTER TECT FOR THE LAST 45 YEARS,JUST NOT ON FORDS
