Been a while since I've been on the forums here, I sold my Mustangs last year and have been working on trucks since so I may be a little rusty on ford stuff.
The problem is, my buddy has a 94 v6 with an auto, he says the trans came out of a 96 v6, idk for sure.
well, it ran and drove great for a long time, then the other day he parked it and tried to put it in reverse and it drives forward, not like it would in drive, but still. park-tries to go forward, reverse-tries to go forward, neutral-tries to go forward, drive 2nd 1st...etc at this point he has 6 forward settings on his shifter. I got under it today and adjusted the linkage thinking that was it to no avail.
I don't know if it has a check engine
light, I'm pretty sure its obd1 and no parts stores around here read obd1.
I'm thinking maybe Transmission Range Sensor, or manual valve inside of the valvebody messed up.
he's wanting to trade me for my jeep so I don't wanna go and pull the pan down and take a TF bath in his driveway, I'd rather just rip the auto out and put a 5 speed in if the trans is gonna need replaced.
Any other suggestions?
