emissions question

i have a 99 3.8 that I changed the motor in. the motor that came out had tubes from the front of the exhaust manifolds that go to a diaphragm that is connected to the air pump. the replacement motor doesn't have the extra tubes and was supposed to be from a 99 as well. whats the difference between the 2 motors and it there a way to delete the air pump and not have a check engine light? thanks, dan

to delete and not get a light you'll need a tune since i'm gonna assume the stock ecu is gonna look for it
